Transvision International (TxVision) is a diversified satellite communications company specialized in the domestic
and international transmission of video, voice, and information.
The company has its headquarters in the multimedia capital of Los Angeles, California,
and has regional offices and partnerships throughout the Asia Pacific and Latin American regions.
The company was founded in 1986 as Vision Accomplished, Inc.,
and began as a provider of transportable KU band uplink services for events taking place in California.
By 1990, the company had broadened its inventory to include six C and KU band units,
and broadened its service area to include all of mainland U.S., and to neighboring countries and islands.
Some of the events being serviced were the Calgary Winter Olympics, the PanAm Games in Cuba,
the Goodwill Games in Seattle, Superbowls in San Diego, Academy Awards in Hollywood,
and Pay Per View Boxing matches in Las Vegas.
By 1993, the company had developed the resources to provide international transmission services.
Flyaway units were deployed to India for championship cricket matches, to the Caribbean and Hawaiian Islands
for major golf tournaments, and to South America for soccer tournaments and various news events.
By 1996, the company had been given the responsibility for some of the most ambitious transmission originations to date.
TxVision was a primary supplier of transportable uplink services during the 1994 World Cup Games staged throughout the USA.
In 1995, TxVision arranged 11 uplinks units in Puerto Rico for the Billy Graham Association.
The transmissions were relayed through various turnaround points to reach 43 transponders on 27 satellites,
ultimately being received at some 5,000 sites in 185 countries.
In 1996, the company set up "Camp Vision" in Atlanta, where a variety of semi-stationary antennas
were set up to transmit over 30 channels of Olympic coverage to broadcasters in Europe and Latin America.
By the year 2000, the company added fixed and transportable uplink units in Brazil, Argentina,
Australia,
the Philippines and Hawaii, as well as two
flyaway units. Txvision
also provided satellite uplink services for the 2000
Olympic games in Sydney Australia.
Txvision has acquired a substantial inventory of equipment which is designed to be used
for services taking place over several months. These include an array of transmit antennas ranging from 1.2m to 9m,
and high power amplifiiers ranging from 5w to 3.3Kw.
